Chelsea Home
It was something like *gulp* TWENTY years ago that I first laid my eyes on this little town. It was shortly after finishing the Detroit Half Marathon that omeone in my group suggested we celebrate big and go to this little restaurant - but it's an hour away. Perfect timing for a little car nap (I did not nap, I gabbed the whole way there.)

Once you get off the freeway you pass through one of those great, old, Michigan towns filled with historical homes and sweet little gardens into the main shopping area. Literally so cute. Nestled between a small gift store, and the local outdoor outfitter is the restaurant experience I did not expect. Since I was starving after the half marathon and I had spent all of my free time training I had the funds saved up to go big. Oysters that are delicious and fresh and sweet (I'm an East Coast Oyster girlie - with a little horseradish and caper,) garlic rolls that they sell by the tray for holidays, and the best gluten-free seafood pasta I could ever ask for!!
ANYWAY - I need to stop living to eat, we can talk about that later.
Chelsea is cute. It has parades for so many things. I have yet to attend the big parade before the county fair (see my rodeo photos here!) but I can't wait to go. (I am usually working a wedding so I miss the weekend things.)
Another parade - this is a bike parade. It is themed, and people wear costumes and dress their bikes up. These were some of the older cooler kids that didn't have time to cut up a cardboard box.
THE DRAFT PULL - did you know that they do the thing they do with tractors with BIG THICC HORSES? It's truly amazing to see those horses champing at the bit to get after it!
