Prep Season!
Photography is certainly a fun career path in theory. I grew up with a self-employed father who always told me never to go into business for myself - OOPS! I am not normally a defiant child, but the first time someone wrote me a $50 check for a family session I was hooked.
Still hooked 11 years later, and more determined than ever, I work to grow my business during all seasons. It's easy to stay busy during the gorgeous warm seasons in mid-Michigan but the first quarter of the year is where a lot of behind the scenes magic happens. It is when websites get touched up by replacing images from last season, time for education exists, and most importantly, planning the upcoming year happens. I am a live-and-die-by-the-calendar girly through and through. What do you mean you don't know what you're doing in November? IT'S ALREADY JUNE!?
Moving to Chelsea MI in 2024 presented so many exciting challenges, first time home ownership, learning how to paint without tape and hang things on the walls without worrying what the land lord would say was so thrilling. Now that the nesting and settling have ended the work has to begin again.
Winter 2026 found me making friends with people in Dexter, Plymouth, Saline, Milan, and Ann Arbor. Finally finding my crew and co-workers made this little hummingbird heart of mine settle down. I needed a crew to ground me and I can't wait to work with them more!
